Field Hockey and Unified Tennis participated in a Unified Play Day, that was created by Julia Bagnall and her unified partner, Chad last year when they represented Special Olympics at the International Special Olympics conference in Dubai. Unified play day is an event to raise awareness and acceptance of all students at OM. Fun was had by all that attended. They played tennis, corn hole, spike ball, ring toss and enjoyed pizza. Through Old Mill’s outstanding Unified Athletics programs, inclusion of all students in activities, and peer buddy program, Old Mill has been recognized as a Unified Champion School for Special Olympics.
Membership report-Volleyball won the fall membership drive and won free Rita’s. Field Hockey came in at a close 2nd.
Concessions- There is a concern about the line of students/parents waiting at the concession stand so a request was
made to admin to help with the “flow” of the line at next home game. Two administrators/teachers will be assigned to monitor the line. Continued “electrical issues” with the concession stand building/equipment. Possible replacement of freezer.
Apparel- Sales are going well. There have been some suggestions for items which is a great sign of interest from everyone to sport the spirit wear!! Parents have made special requests of items. New long sleeve red shirts that say “UNSTOPPABLE” will be available at 11/1 game.
Movie Night- SUCCESS!!! We had a funnel cake truck and Rita’s. Concessions did over $600.
Bull Roast- Fri 3/13 @ 7pm-12midnight. Oracle is back!! Tickets will be $50. Tickets should be in before Christmas. We’ll need volunteers for set-up, selling raffle tickets, 50/50, money board, silent auction and liquor wheel. Jeff Martin can send out a volunteer request through everyone registered on Family ID. Teams will need to let Deb Marcus know of their theme for their donated silent auction basket.
Other- Deb will put together a flyer for teams to share at their team parties regarding Varsity jacket orders. Question was asked about stadium clean up after games. This is a “fundraiser” for teams. Teams can volunteer for this task to earn $400.
